Chilli Chicken Gravy Food Recipe in Andhra Style

Chilli chicken gravy is used as a chicken curry in many houses of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, chili chicken gravy is a very spicy dish and best served with white rice and rasam.  Along with chili chicken gravy, serve some less spicy vegetable dishes along with it to balance the heat. Make sure to have salad or ice cream at the end of your meal so that your body becomes cool after having a yummy and spicy chili chicken gravy. Let's look at the items required for cooking chili chicken gravy in Andhra style

Chilli Chicken Gravy Food Recipe in Andhra Style


Ingredients required for making Chilli Chicken Gravy in Andhra Style :

  • 1 kg chicken cut into medium size pieces
  • 4 large onion ground to paste
  • Lemon wedges to garnish
  • Fried curry leaves and fried green chilies can be added as a garnish

Ingredients for grinding :

  • 1 bunch coriander leaves
  • 1 fist full curry leaves
  • 10 green chilies sliced into small pieces
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon of peppercorn
  • 2 tablespoons of ginger garlic paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
Grind the above ingredients into a fine paste and marinate the chicken in this ground masala for 1/2 hour.

Method  for preparing Chilli Chicken Gravy in Andhra Style : 

Step 1:  Clean chicken and cut them into medium pieces accordingly.
Step 2:  Take a thick bottom pan and heat it with 3 tablespoons of oil
Step 3:  Add saute onion paste till it becomes slightly brown and fragrant.
Step 4:  Then add marinated chicken pieces and fry for a minute, and also add little water and cook it till done.
Step 5:  Let the gravy be thick.

Your dish Chilli chicken gravy is ready to serve to your friends, Serve with lemon wedges and fried potato fingers to your friends
