The Amazing Miss Shinies
Hadn’t been to the beach in a year.
Now, it seemed abundantly clear.
(Why they’d been so cranky lately.)
So, they ran to the sea,
Taking large straw hats
And unused yoga mats.
(They liked carrying them for fun.)
The Laughing Club was there,
Tickling themselves silly
With a Ha-ha and a He-he.
(And some were saying cheese.)
Kites were soaring high
Blue-Pink-Red-Yellow
Into an orange sky
(With bits of lemon green.)
The balloon seller was twisting
His balloons into funny shapes
One moment, it was a duckling.
(And then, a giant grape.)
The peanut seller came by,
And the Shinies sniffed the air,
It simply wasn’t fair.
(That anything smelt sooo delicious.)
So, they ate and ate and ate
Until they couldn’t see their feet.
And because they were beat.
(They decided to get cotton candy.)
When that was done
And their stomach was splitting
They decided to have more fun.
(And bought four bars of ice cream.)
