War Of Words With Indu And Chandu

Author: Indu Harikumar | 20th Feb, 2008

The duo (Indu and Chandu) are back. And this week, they are having a war of sorts. No, not with weaponry. This one is a harmless one — a duel using not swords but words. One that can sharpen one's intellect while providing loads of fun. So let's join their linguistic bandwagon!

What do we need for this exercise?

  1. A pen and a paper. A dictionary would come in handy!
  2. Or just type it on the computer

Oh, that looks like a poem! Am no bard!

Indu: Chandu, yesterday teacher told us about something called acrostic.

Chandu: A cross tick? You mean she told you about ambiguity! A cross or a tick? Just like good old Shakespearean, "To be or not be, that is the question?"

Indu: Blah! Not funny, Chandu! This is far too interesting. Acrostic is usually a poem in which the first letter of each line spells out a hidden word or message.

Chandu: Di, our audience is going to ban us. Poem! Oh no!

Indu: This is great fun. I have one ready on you.

Chandu: Di, how sweet! I would love to read. Di, how mean!  I am going to get an acrostic on you.

Where is the world's biggest pyramid?

The biggest Pyramid in the world is not in Egypt. It's actually about sixty miles southeast of Mexico City, Mexico. It covers more than forty acres and the largest Egyptian Pyramid, The Great Pyramid at Giza, covers about 13 acres. The Great Pyramid at Giza in Egypt, constructed around 2500 B.C., was the tallest building in the world until the Eiffel Tower was erected in 1889.
