The duo (Indu and Chandu) are back. And this week, they are having a war of sorts. No, not with weaponry. This one is a harmless one — a duel using not swords but words. One that can sharpen one's intellect while providing loads of fun. So let's join their linguistic bandwagon!
What do we need for this exercise?
- A pen and a paper. A dictionary would come in handy!
- Or just type it on the computer
Oh, that looks like a poem! Am no bard!
Indu: Chandu, yesterday teacher told us about something called acrostic.
Chandu: A cross tick? You mean she told you about ambiguity! A cross or a tick? Just like good old Shakespearean, "To be or not be, that is the question?"
Indu: Blah! Not funny, Chandu! This is far too interesting. Acrostic is usually a poem in which the first letter of each line spells out a hidden word or message.
Chandu: Di, our audience is going to ban us. Poem! Oh no!
Indu : This is great fun. I have one ready on you.
Chandu: Di, how sweet! I would love to read. Di, how mean! I am going to get an acrostic on you. |
