Paper Weight

PAPER WEIGHT

Hey Kids! Would you like to make a
paper weight? Here's an easy way to make one.
 

You'll need:

Small stones-15 to 20 (each about the
size of a peanut shell)
A piece of cork or heavy

cardboard about as big as your hand

White liquid glue

Poster paints and brush

Shellac

Method:
1. Glue on the larger stones in the centre of the cork or
cardboard.

2. Glue other stones in a circle around the centre
stones. You can make more than one circle. You can
also glue one stone on top of another to make more
one layer.

3. Let the glue dry. Paint each stone. When the paint
dries, apply shellac on each stone. Let the shellac
dry to a hard, shiny finish.

4. Cut away most of the cork or cardboard

that sticksbeyond the edges of the stones.  

Your paper weight is now ready for use.
