If you look around, you may find empty cartons lying about - of varying sizes - which might have contained medicines, tooth paste, face cream and other items. You can put them to some good use to decorate your desk/table.

You will need: Empty cartons, colour paper, stiff card, a tube of Fevicol, marking pen, a pair of scissors.

Choose one large sized carton and wrap it with coloured paper. Pick up four smaller cartons of uniform size.

Wrap them with a paper of different colour.

Attach the smaller cartons to the sides of the bigger carton with Fevicol.

Make cut-outs from the stiff card to make Bunny’s ears. Stick colour paper (of a different colour) on both sides of the ears.

Attach the ears at the back of the bigger carton.  With the marking pen, give two eyes, nose, mouth, and whiskers to Bunny.

Now your Bunny stand is ready to adorn your desk. The shelves will hold pins and clips, pencil and pen.

Depending on the size of the cartons, there can be variations to the Bunny stand. If you have spare cartons, you can make a birthday gift for your friend. He/she will appreciate your handiwork.

Can you believe, the British once went to war over a sailor’s ear! It happened in 1739, when Britain launched hostilities against Spain because a Spanish officer had supposedly sliced off the ear of a ship’s captain named Robert Jenkins.
