Mumbai, India,13th Aug , 2007 Geodesic today announced the appointment of veteran IT journalist L
(Subu) Subramanyan as the CEO of Chandamama. Subu, 43, joins Chandamama
from Jasubhai Digital Media, where he was the CEO and Editorial
Director managing properties such as Digit, The CTO Forum, Skoar! and
Industry 2.0. Subu was also the Chief Editor of Dataquest and the
associated B2B titles of Cyber Media and has served as the founding CEO
of IPF Online Limited.
Geodesic/'s appointment of Subu comes close on the heels of its
completion of acquisition of Chandamama and its decision to revive the
once-glorious brand to its former position of primacy.
Kiran Kulkarni, Managing Director, Geodesic said 'When we acquired
Chandamama, it was with a clear intent to revive the brand and restore
it back to its greatness. Subu/'s appointment is a logical step for us
in that direction, as he comes with a huge understanding of print,
online and events experience ? all of which is totally relevant in the
current scenario'. Kulkarni also said that Subu will oversee all
aspects of the company, including the current print business as well as
the online, interactive and the events businesses planned for
Chandamama.
Speaking on the appointment, Subu said 'It is a great matter of
honor for me to be entrusted with a brand as hallowed and great as
Chandamama. I grew up with it and in that sense, have a sense of what
it was and what I would like it to be. This journey is going to be
strenuous, but fun'. Subu also said that he will be outlining the
plans for the brand shortly. With over 24 years experience, Subu worked
in Sales and Marketing areas initially and then switched over to
International Data Corporation (India). He was with Cyber Media for 12
years, when he was editor of Dataquest, PC Quest and other associated
brands.
